Job Description:
  • Create new delivery systems & dispersion products to support sales and marketing demands
  • Source and evaluate paperwork for new raw materials
  • Test and track stability samples
  • Operate lab and pilot equipment on a needed basis
  • Work with production and external manufacturers to schedule pilot batches
  • Provide production and external manufacturers with raw material, formula and necessary paperwork for pilot batches
  • Draft and complete lab reports upon completion of projects
  • Prepare paperwork for R&D products, including CofA and composition

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioscience, or Biology required
  • 5+ yrs. experience in formulating Colors / Make-up, Sun care
  • Experience with formulations: lipsticks, foundations, pressed powders, and sunscreen.
  • Knowledge of cosmetic and safety regulations required
  • Fluent English and Native Japanese language skills are preferred.
  • International travel required to support tradeshows, customer visits in Asia, and Group Companies in the US, France, UK, and Brazil.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Help to develop a new lab in Tokyo as a hub of Kobo Global Group, and center of Asia Pacific.
  • Communicate closely with Group Companies in the US, UK, France, and Brazil to share technologies and develop & modify formulas using Kobo Group technologies for Asian Customers and training for Asian distributors.
  • Train and assist technicians, chemists, and temporary personnel on formulating cosmetic products including all colored cosmetics, sun care and personal care as necessary.
